Hyundai has launched the all-new Grand i10 Nios in India with much fanfare. Priced between Rs 4.99 lakhs and Rs 7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom), the Grand i10 Nios is available with both petrol and diesel engines and for the first time, an AMT option with the diesel engine. Hyundai is offering the Nios in 10 variants across four trim levels. Let us have a detailed look at all the other options you can buy for the price of the new Grand i10 Nios.
In the entry-level Era trim, which is only available in petrol trim, there are many standard features such as engine immobilizer, rear parking sensors, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, seatbelt reminder, gear shift indicator, door ajar warning, manual AC, and front power windows. For this price, there are other options like Datsun Redigo S AMT, Renault Kwid Climber 1.0 AMT as well as higher-spec versions of the Alto K10, Wagon R and the Celerio.
For the price of the Magna trim (Rs 5.84 lakhs to Rs 6.70 lakhs), you can have the one of the compact crossovers, the Tata Nexon, albeit in the petrol XM variant or the diesel XE base version. Also in the fray is the entry-level Honda Amaze E petrol as well as top-of-the-line Datsun Go. Also available in this price point are Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, Tata Tiago and Hyundai Santro in their respective mid- to top-spec guise.Â
Meanwhile, the Sportz trim of the Nios ranges between Rs 6.38 lakhs and 7.85 lakhs. Here, cars like Tata Tigor XZ+, Tata Bolt XT, Ford Figo Titanium 1.5 Ti-VCT AT, and Fiat Punto Emotion Multijet 90hp come as an alternative option. Even the Maruti Suzuki Ignis sold through Nexa outlet makes a viable choice apart from Mahindra KUV100 NXT.Â
Lastly, the fully-specced Asta trim retails between Rs 7.13 lakhs and Rs 7.99 lakhs. At this price point, one can consider looking at the Hyundai i20 Magna Executive, Honda Amaze 1.2 S AT, Maruti Suzuki Dzire ZXI AMT, or the Polo Highline Plus 1.0. Other premium hatchbacks which can be opted for here are the Honda Jazz and Toyota Glanza in the VX and V petrol guise, respectively. Even the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is available in the entry-level guise but it offers the convenience of a seven-seater for the price of Nios.
