The B-segment hatchbacks have always been a popular choice among car buyers and the longest part of our regular commute is often undertaken while seated in the front seats. Hence, we have compared the front row space of three popular models – Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Ford Figo.
Based on their individual measurements, the Maruti Suzuki Swift is better suited for tall passengers as it offers the maximum legroom and headroom of 89cms and 102cms respectively, while the Grand i10 Nios comes a close second with maximum legroom of 86cms and offers a maximum headroom of 100cms. Among the three cars, the Ford Figo is the least suited for tall passengers as it offers maximum legroom and headroom of 70cms and 98cms, respectively. That said, the Figo offers the best seat backrest height of 63cms while the Swift and the Grand i10 Nios offer a backrest height of 60cms.
The Ford Figo is better suited for healthy passengers as it offers the best shoulder room of 135cms and has a seat base length of 63cms. The Swift comes a close second with a shoulder room of 132cms, but it offers the least seat base length of 50cms. The Grand i10 Nios has the second-best seat base length of 52cms, but has the least shoulder room of 130cms.
As for the buyers looking forward to a car with a better ingress, the Grand i10 Nios scores the highest at 68cms, while the Swift comes second with 65cms. The Ford Figo has an ingress of 62cms.
