Ahead of its India launch on 20 August, the upcoming Hyundai Grand i10 Nios has been spotted at a dealership in the country. Bookings for the Grand i10 Nios commenced earlier this month for a token amount of Rs 11,000. At the time of launch, the hatchback will be available in seven petrol and three diesel engine options. Interestingly, we believe that the Grand i10 Nios will be available with a diesel AMT option for the first time. Depending on the variant customers get to choose from these body colour options – red, white, teal, grey, silver and blue.
Powertrain options on the new Hyundai Grand i10 Nios will include a BS-VI compliant 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine and a BS-VI ready 1.2-litre CRDi diesel engine. The former will produce 81bhp and 114 Nm of torque while the latter will be capable of producing 74bhp and 190 Nm of torque. Transmission options on both the variants will include a five-speed manual transmission and an AMT unit. The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios petrol manual and petrol AMT will return 20.7kmpl and an identical 20.5kmpl respectively. Similarly, the diesel manual and diesel AMT counterparts will return 26.2kmpl and 28.4kmpl respectively.
As seen in images, the top-spec Asta variant features a blacked-out cascading grille with integrated LED DRLs. It gets swept-up headlamps with projector lens and the triangular housings in the bumper that neatly accommodates the projector fog lamps. The rear section features wraparound taillights while the rear bumper gets triangular reflectors and a chrome bar on the boot-lid. The Grand i10 Nios measures 3805mm in length, 1680mm in width, 1520mm in height and it has a wheelbase of 2450mm. As compared to the current-gen model, it is 40mm longer, and 20mm wider, while the height remains unchanged. Moreover, the wheelbase has increased by 25mm.
