Hyundai has silently introduced the automatic transmission in the second to base Magna trim, of the petrol Grand i10. The Grand i10 AT now starts at Rs 5.91 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), while the top-spec Asta (O) automatic is priced at Rs 6.79 lakh. Also the 1.0-litre LPG variant of the hatchback has been discontinued.
Hyundai has discontinued the standard Asta trim that didn’t have ABS. With the new pricing there is no Asta trim, but only the Asta (O), which has all the basic safety features. Previously the petrol automatic was available in the Asta trim without the ABS which had an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 6.48 lakh; this has been revised to Rs 6.79 lakh with the addition of ABS.
The Magna trim misses out on many features. It has no safety net without airbags and ABS, it also misses out on tilt adjustable steering, parking sensors, height adjustable driver seat, engine start-stop button, cooled glove box, electrically adjustable ORVMs, rear wash-wipe, music system and few other features.
Hyundai does not offer LPG trim with the Grand i10 anymore. The petrol engine is the 1.2-litre unit producing 89bhp with the four-speed AT and 81bhp with the five-manual transmission. The diesel unit makes 70bhp and 160Nm of torque.
