A facelift for the Hyundai Grand i10 will be launched in 2017. The B-segment hatchback was launched for the Indian market in late 2013 and this update comes as a part of the standard product life cycle change.
We have already spotted the car testing and from the photos we can see that there will be cosmetic changes to the front and rear. The diamond cut alloy wheels too will get an updated design. Also expect some trims in the cabin as well as an updated feature list. This car will continue with the 1.2-litre Kappa petrol and 1.1-litre diesel motor. Both engines get the option of a five-speed manual while the former also has the option of a four-speed AT.
The Grand i10 has been a stellar success for Hyundai as it has been averaging between 9000-11000 units every month. Its compact sedan sibling the Xcent while embodying the same design and underpinnings has not achieved the same kind of numbers as the hatchback but is also expected to get the same updates after the Grand i10.
Having multiple options in the same segment has allowed Hyundai to play a numbers game where its overall volumes are being developed thanks to multiple models.
