The much awaited Hyundai Grand i10 facelift is set for launch on February 6, 2017. The new model will get fresh cosmetic as well as feature upgrades along with a new slightly bigger 1.2-litre diesel engine. Recently, the vehicle had also been spotted at a dealership yard which also indicated on its possible launch sometime soon.
Under the hood, the petrol version will continue to be powered by a 1.2-litre engine which generates 81bhp of power and 114Nm of torque. As for diesel, this time around the vehicle will get a new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder diesel engine that will replace the older 70bhp producing 1.1-litre engine. The petrol will continue to be offered in manual as well as CVT option, whereas diesel will only come mated to five-speed manual transmission.
In terms of features, we expect to see a new touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android compatibility to be offered on the top-spec variant. Additionally, the Grand i10 facelift might also get a climate control system along with revised upholstery for freshness. In terms of safety, the vehicle will get front airbags as standard.
The new version will get revised bumpers, tweaked headlamps and grille that house fog lamps and DRLs. The sides will not get major upgrades except for new alloy wheels. On the pricing aspect it is believed that the new model will be priced between Rs 4.50 lakh to Rs 7.32 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The new model will further strengthen it competition with the Maruti’s popular selling hatchback Swift.
