The Hyundai Grand i10’s brochure has been leaked onto the interweb just two days ahead of its launch for the Indian market on September 3. It reveals that the car will be made available in four variants and with two engine options the second of which is the new 1.1-litre diesel mill.
Let us get straight to the engine specifications. The Hyundai Grand i10 will be offered with one petrol and diesel engine. While the petrol is the 1.2-litre Kappa unit that produces 83PS and 113Nm of torque, the oil burner is the 1.1-litre engine that produces 71PS and 159Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox across both engine options. Unlike the current gen Hyundai i10, its ‘Grander’ sibling does not appear to have an automatic transmission; however we believe that this option should make its way into the vehicle in about six months from now.
The Hyundai Grand i10 is being offered in four variants; Era, Magna, Sportz and Asta much like the current car. In terms of measurements the Grand i10 is 3.7-meters long (wheelbase of 2.42 meters), 1.6-meters wide and 1.5-meters high making it significantly larger than the current car. Hyundai’s newest hatchback will be offered in eight different colours which includes a new shade called Golden orange.
New features on this car include rear AC vents (Magna and above), cooled glove box, push button start, power outlet for the rear seats and a one GB internal storage for the 2-DIN music system (Sportz and Asta).
While we are now privy to what is believed to be the features, variants and engine line up, what we don’t know is the price and when deliveries for the car will begin. Those two important details will be revealed to us at the launch on September 3, so stay tuned to CarWale as we will bring you the details from launch as they emerge.
