- Knight Edition introduced to celebrate the first anniversary
Hyundai India has recorded 93,000 unit sales of the Exter since its launch. The micro-SUV was first introduced in July 2023 and now within a year of its debut, the model has garnered a good volume of sales. Moreover, to celebrate its first anniversary, the automaker also launched the special Knight Edition of the Exter.
The Hyundai Exter is based on the same platform as the Grand i10 Nios. And the reason behind the success of the Exter can be attributed to its value-for-money proposition. Although it shares the underpinnings with the Grand i10 Nios, it offers more space, features, and an SUV body style which is quite popular among Indian buyers.
Feature-wise, over the Grand i10 Nios, the Exter SUV comes loaded with a digital instrument cluster, voice-enabled electric sunroof, dual dash camera, onboard navigation system, ambient sound of nature, and paddle shifters.
Mechanically, it is equipped with a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine mated to a five-speed manual and AMT gearbox. Also on offer is a company-fitted CNG kit option in select variants.
The Tata Punch-rival received 75,000 bookings in October and the prices of the SUV were revised in January this year. Moreover, the waiting period has been reduced significantly over the months and currently stands at 10 to 14 weeks from the day of booking.
