- Will be the third model to get Knight Edition
- Mechanically to remain unchanged
Hyundai India is all set to launch the very first special edition of its newest SUV, the Exter. The model will soon receive a completely blacked-out version which Hyundai likes to call ‘Knight Edition’. Now, after the pre-facelifted Creta and the Venue, the Exter will be third in line to get the Knight Edition added to its range.
The teaser reveals the black paint scheme with red garnish on the tailgate, and blacked-out pillars and roof spoiler. We expect the black treatment to be carried over to the grille, alloy wheels, roof-rails, pillars, and the lettering and logos on the tailgate. Moreover, the cabin of the Exter will also feature a blacked-out theme with badges on the headrests. Feature-wise, the SUV is unlikely to gain anything new but we can expect themed floor mats and sill guards to be part of the package.
Mechanically, the Hyundai Exter will continue to be powered by the same 1.2-litre NA petrol motor mated to a five-speed manual and AMT gearbox. This motor is capable of churning out 81bhp and 113Nm of torque. Now, the Exter can also be had with a CNG-equipped variant. However, it is yet to be seen whether the Exter Knight Edition be introduced with the CNG powertrain.
