Hyundai will launch its made-for-India Eon in Chile by the end of the year. The Eon will become the base model in an extensive line-up that the Korean manufacturer already offers in the South American nation.
Hyundai will launch the Eon in Chile in two variants. The base model has been fitted with driver’s side airbag, CD player, body coloured bumpers, fog lamps, alarm, imobiliser and a rear spoiler. The higher variant gets an AC, power windows and central locking as additional features.
Under the hood, it is the 800cc petrol engine (same as India), which produces 55bhp and 68Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox. The base model costs 4190000 Chilean Pesos (Rs 4.7 lakh) and the top-end model costs 4790000 Chilean Pesos (Rs 5.4 lakh).
Hyundai like a host of other manufacturers builds export specific models at its Indian facility as it is cheaper both in terms of production and exports.
