Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has tasted quite a bit of success with the launch of the Elite i20 this month. The updated car is the second generation version of the i20 and is already enjoying a good demand in our country. The company has registered 15,300 bookings for the car since its launch on August 11, in Delhi.
This is the third product from Hyundai to achieve such a landmark after the Grand i10 and the Xcent. Earlier, the Grand i10 had received 10,000 bookings in 20 days, while the Xcent had registered 11,000 bookings in 30 days. The company says the Elite i20 has set a new benchmark in the premium hatchback segment by receiving these highest bookings.
Rakesh Srivastava, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, HMIL, said, “We are overwhelmed by the customers strong appreciation and acceptance of the new Elite i20 making it a huge success. This is Hyundai’s fifth sequential successful product launch highlighting the customer confidence in the Hyundai’s aspirational brand value and products. The demand of Elite i20 has doubled and we are working towards increasing its production to reduce the waiting period for faster deliveries so as to delight the customers.”
Out of the total bookings received, 52 per cent bookings comprise of the diesel models. The Elite i20 generated 79,200 enquiries ever since it was launched and continues to gather more enquiries. Hyundai plans to increase their market share and improve the domestic volumes with the launch of such new products for the Indian market.
