A quick look at the Hyundai India website revealed that Hyundai Motor India ltd has dropped the Fluidic 4S name from the Verna badge.
The 2016 Verna, as Hyundai now terms the car, does not incorporate any changes to the car except for the different badging. It continues to have the same mechanicals and equipment which was seen on the earlier car. The Fluidic 4S name was originally added to the Verna to distinguish it from the earlier version that was on sale. Now, everybody has come to associate the car with the name ‘Verna’, and nobody actually uses the 4S or Fluidic names. Which could be the reason why Hyundai smartly opted to drop these names.
However, we did notice that prices for the 2016 Verna have been increased. And while the hike ranges from Rs 23,000 to Rs 38,000, these would vary between cities. We expect the updated prices to carry the revisions made after the recent budget. When contacted, sources at Hyundai did not comment on why the 4S Fluidic name was dropped from the nomenclature.
