Amidst economic slowdown, Hyundai has managed to improve cumulative sales by 11.58 per cent majorly due to improved export numbers. Hyundai is one of the few manufacturers who have managed to turn the tide in their favour despite the overall lull in the market due to the various macro-economic factors.
Hyundai’s domestic sales accounted for 28,311 units compared to 28,257 units for the same month last year. This is only a marginal improvement over the year, but to supplement this, their export figures have improved considerably, accounting for 24,008 units in August 2013 as compared to 18, 629 units for the same month last year.
Hyundai is India’s largest passenger car exporter and currently, exports six of its popular models namely - Santro, i10, i20, Accent, Eon and Verna to 119 countries.
