After numerous spyshots of the car being tested in our country in a disguised avatar, Hyundai has finally unveiled the Creta crossover for the Indian car market. The crossover will be launched shortly to take on the Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster and soon to be launched Maruti S-Cross.
The Creta (known as ix25 earlier) was originally developed for the Chinese market and will be produced in India as well. The small SUV adopts the styling of the Santa Fe, which is almost like the smaller version of the sibling. It carries over the same design language and measures 4,270mm in length, 1,780mm in width and 1,630mm in height. The crossover comes equipped with projector headlamps, DRLs, roof rails, alloy wheels and ORVMs integrated with side indicators.
Like the Chinese-spec Hyundai ix25, the Creta will also feature creature comforts like cruise control, automatic climate control, keyless start and reverse parking camera. Hyundai India has brought the same model to our country without skimping much on the features list in the India-spec model.
The Creta for the Indian market comes powered by the same engine-options from the Hyundai Verna. The Korean manufacturer will be offering the 1.6-litre engine option with manual and automatic transmission options depending on the different variants.
We will drive the car today at the Hyundai’s test facility and will shortly come up with the first impression report. Stay tuned to CarWale for more.
