The Hyundai Creta petrol automatic is now available for booking with the amount set at Rs 25,000. It has been priced at Rs 13.48 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai) but with a three-month waiting period. It is being offered only in a single top-of-the-line SX+ variant. However, the price has still not been listed on the manufacturer’s official website.
The variant had gone live on Hyundai’s website a few weeks ago and is the same six-speed unit found in the Elantra sedan. The engine is the 1.6-litre four-cylinder unit that produces 122bhp and 154Nm of torque.
The Creta petrol AT is Hyundai’s answer to the Honda City AT as well as the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz AT. It has the Verna with the same engine but with a much older four-speed AT. With the car showing its age and unable to take the fight to the City and Ciaz, Hyundai’s best bet seems to be this new petrol variant for the Creta.
In terms of pricing, as is the case with every other variant, the Creta is Rs 1 lakh more than the Ciaz and nearly Rs 50,000 more than the equivalent Honda City VX CVT variant.
