Hyundai dropped another teaser for the facelifted Creta ahead of its debut at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show. The teaser shows the pre-production car under a heavy black cladding, not revealing much except for the redesigned alloy wheels, a little bit of the headlamp and a logo on the grille.
The facelifted Creta will first go on sale in Brazil next year onwards since it is being manufactured at Hyundai's plant in Piracicaba, Sao Paulo. And it is expected that the same spec will arrive in India and China as well for the mid-life refresh. It is called the ix25 in China. Likewise, the car is expected to be introduced in many new markets as well.
The Brazilian-spec Creta is powered by a 1.6-litre CVVT flex-fuel engine which is borrowed from Hyundai’s HB20. The engine produces 128bhp of power and 162Nm of torque. There are two transmission options –a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic. It is uncertain whether the all-wheel-drive will be available for this compact SUV.
The Creta competes with the likes of the Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Honda BR-V Ford EcoSport and others in India and also in the global markets.
