The new Hyundai Creta can be had in two guises currently, the standard and the N Line version. Now, the automaker is working on bringing the electrified version of the same to the Indian market. The all-electric Creta was recently spotted at a charging station in its home country, Korea.
As seen in the picture, the Creta EV will boast an identical design to the standard version with very minimal changes. The biggest difference will be in the form of a new set of aero-designed alloy wheels and front bumper-mounted charging port. Other than that, the electric Creta will get ‘EV’ bits and pieces with the blanked-off grille, connected LED DRLs and taillamps, revised front and rear bumpers, and lowered ground clearance due to the floor-mounted battery pack.
Now, the automaker has not disclosed any information regarding the dimensions and storage capacity of the Creta EV. However, we expect it to get a front storage space also called a ‘Frunk’ in the EV guise.
Coming to the features and equipment, the Creta EV will continue to be a feature-rich model as its ICE sibling. It will likely come loaded with a twin-display setup, revised centre console, wireless smartphone connectivity, new seat upholstery, 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, panoramic sunroof, and Level 2 ADAS suite.
Specification-wise, considering the positioning of the Creta EV in the market, we expect it to get a 55-60kWh battery pack unit with a claimed range of over 500km on a single charge. Upon arrival, the Hyundai Creta EV will compete against the Tata Harrier EV, MG ZS EV, Hyundai Kona Electric, Mahindra XUV400, and the Tata Curvv EV.
