The Creta SUV has been a considerable contributor to Hyundai sales in India. To celebrate Creta’s first anniversary, Hyundai has launched the Creta anniversary edition. Changes are limited to cosmetic and feature upgrades, while mechanically it continues to be powered by existing engine options. The Creta anniversary edition is based on the SX+ trim, the petrol variant is priced at Rs 12.23 lakh and the diesel variant is priced at Rs 13.76 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Creta anniversary edition is available only in white shade with glossy black roof and pillars for stylish appeal. A majority of automakers have been offering generous amounts of chrome on their models which are offered as special edition trims. For a change, Hyundai has taken out the chrome bar from the tailgate and has instead opted for a body-coloured bar. Additionally, the special edition model also gets dual colour matte grey and red stripes on its sides along with the first anniversary decal on its C-pillars.
The interior also gets a host of fresh upgrades, the cabin area gets a red and black theme. The vertically stacked AC vents get a touch of red, while the steering wheel comes wrapped in leather. The seat gets a red layout with red stitching on its sides. Loaded with fresh upgrades the cabin indeed appears to be sporty.
Under the hood the petrol as well as the diesel variants continue to be powered by 1.6-litre four-cylinder units. The petrol version generates about 122bhp of power and 154Nm of torque, while the diesel generates about 126bhp of power and 265Nm of torque. However, the anniversary edition will only be available in manual transmission. The special edition model is expected to contribute to impressive Creta sales numbers in the country
