- This is the world’s first Holographic Augmented Reality (AR) Navigation System
- AR holographic powered glass will serve as a platform to provide new services and open up new in-vehicle experiences
While we have only seen Heads-up-Display systems present a limited amount of information, augmented reality technology is all-set to re-define the way we look at navigation and more.
At CES 2019, Hyundai in collaboration with WayRay AG, has unveiled the world’s first Holographic Augmented Reality Navigation System equipped in the Genesis G80 sedan. What it can do is turn the windscreen into a display opening up numerous possibilities. The system shown in the G80 concept is designed for navigational features as well as those of electronic driver aids like lane departure and forward collision warning.
The technolgy isn't ready for production yet however it isn't too long that this tech will find itself in production cars and offer even more convenience and safety.
