The Government of India has given a green signal to the sales of Hyundai cars via canteen stores department (CSD). Last month, the organisation had stopped the sales of the Creta as the manufacturer had failed to offer any discounts through the CSD.
Since Hyundai had failed to respond to the issue of discounts over the Creta, the Ministry of Defence had issued a letter to all depots to stop the sale of Hyundai cars through the CSD channel. The matter is now solved and another letter has been issued to CSD outlets stating that "All depots can resume the sale of all Hyundai cars forthwith."
There is a variety of goods that are offered to the defence personnel at a discounted price from the CSD including cars. From the time the sales of Hyundai cars were halted through CSD, the carmaker was is in talks with the concerned authorities and have now resolved the issue to begin the sales of Hyundai cars. Apart from the discount, Hyundai cars will also be delivered within a shorter time to the servicemen in India’s armed forces. The waiting period of 6-7 months for the Creta is now reduced to two months for the defence personnel.
