Hyundai has managed to sell 44,758 cars in India in the month of April 2017 and has exported over 11,000 units from their Chennai facility. The car sales are up by 5.7 per cent as compared to the sales figures in April 2016.
Hyundai had sold 42,351 cars in April last year but when compared to the sales number for March 2017, the car sales have been up by one unit. Hyundai has been on a growth surge month-on-month as well as year-on-year. With the new Grand i10 and the new Xcent being launched in the last couple of months, the sales numbers are expected to rise further assisted by the steady numbers of the Elite i20 premium hatchback.
The Hyundai Creta has been performing exceptionally well in the premium segment for Hyundai and the Korean car maker should be launching their bestselling sedan, the Verna, later this year. While the premium products like the Santa Fe and the Tucson SUVs and Elantra sedan do not contribute much to the numbers, they give their product portfolio a premium touch which has turned out to be Hyundai’s forte segment.
