Thirteen lucky winners of the just concluded Hyundai Motor “Paint and Win” contest, had the privilege of viewing the complete process of car making. Aged between 5-14, these budding artistes accompanied by their parents, were taken on a guided tour of the state of the art facilities of Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) in Chennai. Hailing from different parts of the country, the children had participated in a painting competition conducted by the company, where the central theme was a car.
“I am amazed at the talent of these young children”, said Mr. B. S SEO, Executive Director Production at the award ceremony. “The pictures have a professional quality and had the artists behind these, not been revealed, I would have never guessed that they came from such talented youngsters. Some of them look even better than our cars!” he added.
Mr. T. Sarangrajan, Vice President Production, in his congratulatory address to the awardees, urged the winners to open their minds and dream unfettered. He said that the company was always on a look out for fresh talent and was happy to honour the highly talented young children. The awardees were honoured with a “National Certificate of Merit”. A magic show and other entertainment programmes completed the outing.
The “Paint and Win” contest was organised as a part of the consumer connect initiative of Hyundai Motor India Limited. Held in the month of June at all Hyundai dealerships around the country, it was open to both Hyundai and non-Hyundai customers. The event received tremendous response where more than 10,000 children participated. Each participant received a Verna branded T shirt. The prizes were awarded at three levels- weekly, monthly and a Grand National prize. Each week 969 winners walked away with certificate of merit from the 323 dealerships. At the end of the month, 960 best entries were selected from 3876 winning entries. The winners were given a Titan Zoop wrist watch. Thirteen best entries out of these were selected for the grand prize of an expense paid trip to Chennai.“I am elated with this visit”, said Shilpa Sivaraman a participant from Trivandrum. “This is truly a dream come true. I feel privileged to see how a car is made. This is one of the best visits of my life.” She added.
