Korean auto giant Hyundai has announced the name of its new compact SUV. The vehicle, which will be the fourth member of the brand’s SUV range in Europe, is to be called Kona. It will join other cars of the Hyundai range, like the Grand Santa Fe, Santa Fe and the Tucson.
The name Kona is derived from the Kona district on the Big Island of Hawaii. According to Hyundai, the Kona is expected to play an important role in the brand’s aim to become the leading Asian car brand in Europe by 2021. In all, Hyundai is expected to launch 30 new models and derivatives.
More news about the new Kona will be released in the coming months. What we do know for certain is that this new model will compete with the likes of Nissan Juke and Suzuki S-Cross in Europe.
