- Hyundai recorded its highest ever FY domestic sales managing a YoY growth of 1.7 per cent.
- Sold 44,350 units in March 2019, which is a drop of 7.8 per cent over the same month last year.
Hyundai India has managed to record its highest ever domestic sales in FY2018-2019. The Korean carmaker sold 5,45,243 units compared to 5,36,241 units in 2017-18, thus registering a domestic growth of 1.7 per cent. The export grew by 5.3 per cent YoY with 1,53,943 units in the previous fiscal year to 1,62,105 units. The total cumulative sales (domestic + export) stood at 7,07,348, which is up by 2.5 per cent from 6,90,184 units in FY2017-18.
Commenting on the financial year closing, Vikas Jain, national sales head, Hyundai Motor India Ltd., said, "With a strong commitment towards making a happy life for our customers through open innovations, best-in-segment products and excellent customer service experience, we closed the financial year 2018-19 on a positive note with a growth of 1.7 per cent and highest- ever domestic volume of 5,45,153 units meeting and exceeding our customer aspirations."
On the other hand, the month of March witnessed a YoY drop of 7.6 per cent as the sales dropped from 48009 units in March 2018 to 44,350 units in the corresponding month this year. However, the export increased from 12,498 to 16,800 with cumulative sales in March reaching 61,150 units.
Hyundai is gearing up for the introduction of the all-new Venue in India. Formerly codenamed the QXI, the Venue makes claims to being India’s 'first smart connected SUV'. It will debut Hyundai’s 'BlueLink Connected Technology' across the globe. This new technology from the Korean carmaker will also be made available in India and it will bring in many segment-first connected features. The BlueLink will have 33 new connected features, among which, 10 are specific to India.
