- The standard A45 will reportedly have less than 400bhp power.
- Expected to break cover at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show.
After the reveal of the A35 AMG at the Paris Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz teased the top-of-the-line A45 AMG being tail happy in a 'Merry Driftmas' video. Now, a German insurance website has listed a more potent A45 S on the website, stating the power figure of the hot hatch as 415bhp.
The A45 AMG will be powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine gasoline engine. An output of 415bhp will make this engine the second most powerful four-cylinder motor after Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X FQ440’s output of 440bhp from its four pot engine. As far as the standard A45 is concerned, the website lists its power output as 382bhp, which is less than the earlier rumoured figure of 400bhp, but 6bhp more than the outgoing A45.
Both the A45 and A45 S are expected to be revealed next month before making their public debut at the Geneva Motor Show. It will be followed by A45 Sedan which will be the more potent version of India-bound A-Class sedan. It is uncertain at the moment whether Mercedes will use the A45 S tuning on the other 45 AMG products like the GLC45 or the upcoming GLB45. The second-gen A-Class is likely to make its Indian debut later this year. This means that the performance oriented AMG models will be launched by 2020. More details will be revealed in the days to come, so keep watching this space.
