Honda Siel Cars India recently crossed the 3 lakh sales milestone in India. The Japanese automaker launched a limited edition sport variant of its sedan, the Civic, to commemorate this milestone. Honda sold 36,849 cars in India, between January and July 2008, up from 36,759 units in the corresponding period last year, an increase of 0.2 per cent.
With more dealerships in 2008 to cater to the new launches of Honda's latest passenger car models and technologies, the Indian customer won't be starved for choice. The car maker has already expanded capacity at its Noida facility in Uttar Pradesh from 60,000 units to one lakh units per annum in February 2008. The expansion plans have also led to an increase of Honda dealerships from 55 to 80 in 2007. The company says it will add another 20 dealers in the current fiscal across the country.
