Honda has added another SUV to their line-up with the prices starting from Rs 7.82 lakh, ex-showroom, Navi Mumbai. The Honda WR-V will be the entry-level SUV in Honda scheme of things and is positioned between the Honda Jazz hatchback and the City sedan.
The Honda WR-V is built on the Jazz platform and offers the same value proposition as the Jazz- loads of space and practicality. While the interior dimensions are almost the same, the SUV styling opens up more cabin space. The interior is all-black with brushed aluminium accents typical of all new Honda cars. The WR-V toes Honda’s new strategy of offering specced-up cars and gets all- four power windows, automatic climate control and a 2-DIN audio system standard. It also gets dual front airbags with ABS and EBD standard.
In terms of looks, the WR-V gets a distinct identity that looks more like the Honda BR-V rather than the Jazz. The SUV styling and dimensions go well with the square looks making it look butch. It gets alloy wheels and peripheral cladding. Under the hood, you have the 1.2-litre 91bhp petrol engine and the 1.5-litre 98bhp diesel engine powering the Honda WR-V. Both engines come mated to manual gearboxes.
The WR-V competes with the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, the Ford Ecosport and the Mahindra Nuvosport.
