Japanese automaker Honda has been working on a new crossover codenamed ‘Honda 2FM’. The crossover expected to be rechristened as Honda WR-V, will be showcased in production-ready form in November during the Sao Paulo International Motor Show. Post international debut, the Honda WR-V is expected to make its way to the Indian shores.
The Honda WR-V crossover looks similar to the Jazz hatchback except for a bigger body design. The crossover gets sharply designed headlamps that blend in with the redesigned front grille. The front will also get generous amounts of chrome which adds to its premium feel. The side profile gets body cladding which runs from the front wheel arches to the rear wheel arches. Additionally, the vehicle also gets new 17-inch wheels. Continuing the new age styling, the front and rear bumpers also get body cladding. The rear section sports chrome garnish below the rear glass.
Honda has not given detailed information on the engine specification yet, but it is likely that the upcoming Honda WR-V will be powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine option that will put out 114bhp power. The India-bound model will also be offered in a diesel variant. The Honda WR-V engines will come mated to a five-speed manual and an optional automatic transmission for the petrol variant only.
Details on the features will be known in the coming months. The Honda WR-V crossover will be positioned between the Jazz and the soon to be launched BR-V in India. On the pricing aspect, the WR-V is expected to be priced between Rs 11 - 14 lakh.
