The all-new Jazz was declared the best-selling car in the Japanese Domestic Market in December and in the same month Honda launched the Jazz-based Vezel crossover. Seems like the Vezel is taking after the Jazz. A Japanese news website has now reported that the Vezel has racked up 24,900 bookings since the day of its launch.
These stellar figures were achieved within a month of its launch on December 19, 2013. The report also claims young customers in the age group of 20s are buying the hybrid, whereas the older generation in the 50s and 60s are opting for the petrol model.
Honda offers the Vezel with two engine options and three variants: X petrol, X hybrid and X.L hybrid (AWD). The powertrains on offer are a four-cylinder 1.5-litre petrol unit and the same engine mated to an electric motor.
Currently, the Vezel is exclusive to Japan and will reach the European markets by mid-2014 but the US markets will have to wait a little longer.
