Honda's much-awaited premium hatchback, the Jazz, will soon be launched in India. The spy-shots of the vehicle seem to be from the manufacturer's new facility in Rajasthan, hinting that the company has started production of the next-generation Jazz hatchback for India.
The Japanese automaker seems to have analysed the demand for the product in India and is planning to create a ready supply of stock before they launch the car for the Indian market. Speculations are that more than 600 cars have already been produced and the manufacturer aims to produce at least 5,000 cars before they put the car on sale in our country.
This is the new-generation of the Honda Jazz which looks more promising than the previous iteration. Neither did the earlier one create much hype, nor did it do well in terms of sales. But the new one is expected to create quite a buzz as it not just looks good and has many features to offer, but this time, the car will be offered in diesel variants as well.
The newly introduced 1.5-litre Earth Dreams diesel motor is Honda's one and the only versatile diesel engine currently in production. It is seen under the hood of the Amaze, Mobilio, City and will continue to be employed for the Jazz's diesel variant. The petrol version will be powered by the 1.2-litre i-VTEC mill. The transmission options include the five-speed manual and the five-speed automatic. If in case Honda has any plans ever, it would be good to see paddle-shifters in the car.
It is a good plan of readying stock before the launch as it will then not amount to a waiting period that only upsets prospective buyers. And now that Honda has already started its production in India, we can expect the Jazz to be launched in a couple of months. Honda's plan of introducing new models for the Indian market has worked for them with the Amaze, new City and Mobilio in 2014. They have strengthened their position in the Indian automobile market and aim to keep the momentum going by entering some new segments in 2015.
