Honda Motor Company (HMC), is considering product enhancement to increase its presence in the small car market in India. In the process the company has commissioned a new R&D facility in Noida last month.
In a bid to plug the needs of the Indian market, Honda has set up a completely new R&D facility at its existing manufacturing unit in Noida to boost vehicle design and development capabilities. Honda is currently looking at increasing the manpower of this facility and their primary motive will be to sense the market trend and develop new models.
Honda cars India CEO, Katsushi Inoue, revealed that Honda is now hiring officials to feel the market and respond to its needs. He quoted that he was confident of how the Indian market would progress and cited that demand in the long run, would definitely grow. Katsushi added that the Indian market growth was hugely driven by the younger generation, and for this, Honda plans to have some full model upgrades and a couple of new models in 2016.
Katsushi pressed that the Indian market is the most important market for Honda and all R&D done at the new facility will be meant for India only.
