Honda Prospect Motor in Indonesia has sold 25,867 units of the Mobilio ever since the deliveries of the car started on January 25 this year. With a cumulative sale of 49,104 units for the year, the Mobilio has become the best-selling car in Indonesia.
The Honda Mobilio is an MPV based on the Brio hatchback and an extended version of the Amaze. The car was previously showcased at the Indonesia Motor Show in September 2013 and exhibited at the Auto Expo 2014 in India. Placed in the MPV segment, which is significantly growing in Indonesia, the Honda Mobilio has found a good demand in the country and has helped the company increase its overall sales in the Indonesian car market.
Jonfis Fandy, Marketing and After Sales Service Director, PT Honda Prospect Motor, said, "The launch of new Honda models beginning with the Honda Mobilio and the new Honda City, has contributed significantly to the sales of Honda. In addition, other Honda products also continued to show positive sales trend. Going forward, we will continue to maintain this trend by conducting refreshes on our products."
Honda India had planned to manufacture the Mobilio at their new plant in Tapukara, Rajasthan and the vehicle has already entered production at its production facility in Greater Noida. The MPV might be launched in July this year with a price range of Rs 6.5-lakh to Rs 9 lakh. It will rival the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy, Ashok Leyland Stile and Nissan Evalia.
