Honda has sold 12,642 units in December 2017 as compared to 10,071 units in the corresponding period last year, thus registering a growth of 26 per cent. The automaker has also said that it sold 129,964 units during the period April to December 2017 as compared to 108,522 units in the same period for 2016 registering a growth of 20 per cent.
Honda’s success has no doubt come on the back of the sales of the facelifted Honda City as well as the Jazz based WR-V compact SUV which it launched last year. However, despite the SUV craze, it is the City which has led Honda’s charge registering a total sale of 62,573 units over the course of the year.
Commenting on the sales figures, Yoichiro Ueno, President and CEO, Honda Cars India said, “HCIL experienced robust growth during 2017 backed by good demand for all our products across segments, especially the Honda City & WR-V. As we welcome the New Year 2018 we would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers for the continued support to the Honda brand, and look forward to another fruitful year ahead.”
