Honda Cars India has sold 11, 233 units in July 2013 as compared to 4, 386 units in July 2012, resulting in a growth of 156 per cent. This growth has no doubt been bolstered by the Amaze compact sedan which sold 6515 units last month and is currently and the company is believed to be sitting on a 22, 000 units waiting list for the vehicle.
The company sold 40,350 units and posted a cumulative growth of 65 per cent during April – July 2013 as against 24,462 units sold during the same period last year. HCIL also exported a total volume of 756 units during July 2013.
The sales of its other units includes 2602 units of the Brio, 1953 units of the City sedan, 20 units of the Accord and 133 units of the CR-V. Since Honda launched the 2013 CR-V and began its local assembly its numbers have been rising slowly and is expected to increase over the next few months.
Commenting on the company’s performance Jnaneswar Sen, senior vice president – marketing and sales, Honda Cars India Ltd said, “The Honda Amaze has clocked its highest monthly sales of 6,515 units during July 2013 and is maintaining very good growth momentum having sold more than 24,000 units sold since its launch, “he said.
“As a strategic decision, the company plans to start a third shift from November 2013 to reduce the waiting period of the Amaze. The idea is to ensure customer’s convenience and amplify production for the overwhelming demand,” he added.
