Honda Cars India sold 15,263 units in November 2014 domestically, thereby registering a growth of 64 per cent over the corresponding period last year. Honda also registered an overall growth of 46 per cent during the period of April to November 2014 by selling 1,16,705 units as against 80,163 units during the corresponding period last year.
Speaking on the company’s sales performance, Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Sr. Vice President – Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, “We continue to witness strong demand for all our products across markets. We are aggressively expanding our dealer network to reach out to more customers and recently we reached the milestone of 200 dealers in the country.”
He further added, “During November, we began the second shift of production at the Tapukara plant which has helped us in improving the availability of the Honda City.”
The demand for Honda cars has increased with the introduction of diesel-powered vehicles. The City’s sales chart has shown numbers of 7,000 plus units consistently, however, it lost the plot to the Maruti Ciaz last month and ducked under the 7,000 unit mark. This was also due to the fact that the production of the car was temporarily stopped to make enough of Mobilios.
