Honda Cars India has announced a 17 per cent hike in total sales for January 2015. The company sold 18,331 units last month while they had sold 15,714 units in the corresponding period in 2014.
This includes 951 units of the Brio, 6,709 units of the compact sedan Amaze, 2,942 units of the Mobilio, 7,671 units of the new City and 58 units of the CRV. Apart from Honda's domestic sales, the manufacturer also exported 1,369 vehicles last month.
Jnaneswar Sen, Senior Vice-President, Marketing and Sales, HCIL, said, "January 2015 has been an extremely good month for HCIL. We registered our highest monthly domestic sales of this fiscal contributed by strong sales momentum for all the models."
Honda plans to extend their services to more and more cities in India and aims to open more dealerships by March 2015. With this expansion drive, the manufacturer aims to expand their dealership network by 35 per cent. They also aim to add another 100 dealerships by March 2016 to cater to the demand of their products and will extend their services to new Tier III markets while focusing on the existing ones.
The Japanese manufacturer's Amaze, Mobilio and new City have tasted a fair bit of success in the Indian market. The upcoming new Jazz will soon be launched which looks good and promising than the earlier one. This will be the Jazz’s second innings in our country and is expected to be better than the previous one.
