- 9,143 units sold in April 2018
- 14,480 units sold in April 2017, 13,574 units sold in March 2018
- Zero sales of Amaze as the production has been diverted to the new Amaze due for launch on 16 May
Honda’s monthly car sales in India have gone below the 10,000 mark for the first time in the past year with the Japanese carmaker selling only 9,143 units overall in the Indian domestic car market. Also 452 cars have been exported in the month of April 2018.
With the new Honda Amaze set to be launched later this month, sales of the current Amaze have been suspended which has led to a slide in the sales numbers. Also, the sales of its two stars – the Honda City and the WR-V have also shrunk a bit with the sales of 3,366 units and 2,949 units as against the 4,680 and 4,411 units in March.
But March sales, this year, have bucked the trend and the slide in sales numbers in April is a part of the annual cyclic sales behaviour. With the Amaze coming in, the sales numbers can be expected to bounce back to 13,000-15,000 units which has been the average range for the past six months.
