Honda has released the sketches of the BR-V compact SUV. The company will showcase the prototype of this compact SUV at the Gaikindo Indonesian International Auto Show 2015 in August this year.
The BR-V stands for Bold Runabout Vehicle and will be developed by Honda R&D Asia Pacific Co. Ltd. (HRAP) in Thailand for the Asian markets. It is the third model to be developed by HRAP. Likely to be based on the Brio hatchback, it will stand tall with a high ground clearance. The aggressive presence is further increased by the large alloy wheels and high roof rails.
The sketches also show the chrome grille, projector headlights, front and rear skid plates, a large air dam, round fog lamps and black body cladding. Honda has confirmed that the BR-V will be launched in a seven-seat arrangement and three-row configuration.
The Honda BR-V will be powered by the 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, i-VTEC mill with the availability of two transmissions. We can also expect the car to employ the 1.5-litre diesel mill from the Amaze, City and the Mobilio, in India.
The muscular vehicle will be unveiled at the upcoming Gaikindo Indonesian International Auto Show 2015, which will take place in Tangerang, Indonesia from August 20 to August 30. We should know more details at the time of the official unveiling and will probably get to see the vehicle at the Auto Expo in 2016.
