Honda Car India will launch the Jazz in our country in July. The manufacturer had recently released a teaser and now has shown another promo of their premium new hatchback.
The teaser video features the Fit (model of the Jazz sold in USA) and the car for the Indian market will be the same. The car featured in the ad is a bit different from the one launched in the European market. The car in Europe gets a chrome grille, while the India-spec Honda Jazz comes with a black grille that is seen on the model for the Japanese and American market. Apart from this, the car gets features similar to the one that was showcased at the Paris Motor Show last year in a pre-production form.
This is the new-generation of the Honda Jazz which looks more promising than the previous iteration. Neither did the earlier one create much of hype, nor did it do well in terms of sales. But the new Jazz is expected to create quite a buzz as it not just looks good and has many features to offer, and this time, the car will be offered in diesel variants as well.
The new i-DTEC powerplant has tasted quite a fair bit of success with the Amaze, City and the Mobilio in the Indian market. This will be the first time Honda will offer the Jazz with a diesel engine in our country as the earlier model was offered only as a petrol version. Now, the Jazz will be available with the 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol unit and the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine. The transmission options include either a five-speed manual or a CVT gearbox.
Honda will soon start the promotion of the car at various places in our country and we expect the media drive to happen soon. The Jazz has created quite a sensation globally and is expected to create quite a lot of excitement in India as well. We expect the second innings of the hatchback in India to be better than the previous one, if the manufacturer prices the car competitively. This will then put up a tough fight against the Volkswagen Polo and the Hyundai i20.
