Honda India has managed to sell 1,83,787 units during the FY18–19, thus recording an eight per cent growth over the last financial year when the carmaker sold 1,70,026 units. The Japanese carmaker also exported 4,794 units during the same period. Meanwhile, in the month of March, the domestic sales stood at 17,202 units, as compared to 13,574 units in the same month last year.
The new-gen Amaze had a successful run last year after its surprise reveal at the 2018 Auto Expo. Although it went on sale in May, the compact sedan averaged an impressive 7,884 until December selling a total of 67,563 by the year end – which was more than the Kwid and the Nexon. Meanwhile, Honda also launched the new-gen Civic in India early this year. And the D-segment sedan has already crossed 2000 bookings in just 45 days. Apart from that, Honda also expanded its sales and distribution network across the country during the fiscal year 2018-19 to 381 facilities across 264 cities.
