Honda Cars India has reported a 16 per cent increase in February 2015 sales. The company sold 16,902 units in February, this year, as compared to 14,543 units in the same month last year.
Out of the total sales, the major chunk came from the Amaze, whose sales stood at 7,163 units. The Japanese manufacturer sold 6,505 units of the City, 1,697 units of the Mobilio and 1,397 units of the Brio. The company could manage to sell only 140 units of the CR-V. Other than the domestic market, Honda exported a total of 1,119 units in February. Honda Cars India also has registered an overall growth of 44 per cent during April 2014 – Feb 2015 with 166,366 units as against the 115,913 units during the corresponding period last financial year.
Along with the Amaze, the Mobilio and the City have been the most successful vehicles from the Japanese manufacturer. These products have helped them increase their market share by a good margin and at the same time reduce their overall losses. Due to the production constraint, there is a long waiting list for the Mobilio, which is expected to go down once the company produces more of this MUV.
