Backed by the success of the Amaze, Honda Cars India has registered a 65 per cent growth in cumulative sales compared to last August. In the span of about four months, the Amaze has recorded a sales milestone of 30,000 which has reflected on the overall sales numbers.
From April- August’13, the company sold 49,263 units as against 29,932 units during the corresponding period last year. As expected, the Amaze was the highest contributor at 6242 units, followed by the Brio which sold 1508 examples. The Honda Accord continued to do decently for a petrol sedan in the E-Segment selling 62 units, while the City continues to sell close to 1000 units. Honda also exported a total volume of 556 units in the month of August this year.
Honda is also measuring the launch of three more models to India which include the Brio based MPV, the new Honda City and the much awaited Jazz. These models should most likely up the figures further, considering the Jazz and the MPV will be high volume models in India with the new diesel engine.
