P.T. Honda Prospect Motor from Jakarta, Indonesia has released a video of the Honda Mobilio that summarises all the details of the car. The MPV was launched in the country last week. We are expecting to see the car soon in another week’s time at the Auto Expo 2014.
The video, which can be seen below, emphasises the design of the car, the technology it is equipped with along with the mention of all features present in the Mobilio. The visual takes us through the exterior as well as interior features frame by frame. It explains the tilt steering, functions of the music system which has CD, Aux and USB ports, double blower air-conditioner, the tumble seat in the second row, the eco-meter. It contains a brief introduction of the 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine mated to a CVT gearbox and it also throws light on the 5.2m turning radius of the vehicle. It highlights the electronic power steering, dual SRS airbags, ABS and EBD that the Mobilio is equipped with.
Last week at an event in Jakarta, the first 160 prospective buyers of the Honda Mobilio were handed over the keys of the car. The vehicle is available in three variants in Indonesia, namely- S, E, and E-Prestige. The prices start from 159,500 rupiah (about Rs 8.19 lakh).
The Honda Mobilio is expected to be introduced to the Indian car market this year. The MPV has received appropriate changes for our market, firstly by the introduction of the 1.5-litre EarthDreams diesel engine from Honda. This motor powers the Honda Amaze and the new Honda City that was launched recently. It helps to achieve a best-in-class fuel efficiency. This mill would be mated to the five-speed manual transmission but it is still unsure if Honda’s Indian subsidiary will offer the CVT option for the petrol variant of the Mobilio in our country.
We will bring you more updates about the same as soon as more details emerge before the official unveiling.
