Honda will launch their latest MPV, the Mobilio, in Kenya, early next year. The probabilities of Honda Car India Limited exporting the vehicle to Kenya is more considering the South African market already receives it from our country.
This new seven-seater MPV exported to the country will not have any cosmetic changes to the exterior and will get the same interior offered in the South African market. Unlike the beige-black cabin of the car available in India, the Mobilio for Kenya will get the all-black treatment inside. Similar to the South African model, all the models of the vehicle will get ABS, EBD and dual front airbags as standard.
The Mobilio will be powered by the same 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol mill that churns out 119bhp of power and 145Nm of torque. This motor comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and a CVT transmission will also be offered.
The Honda Mobilio was initially introduced in the Indonesian market. It then marked its entry into the multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) segment in India, and immediately struck a chord with Indian consumers. Hopefully it should also find a good demand in Kenya when it goes on sale there next year.
