The Honda Mobilio was unveiled at the Indonesian Motor Show and since then has been making big impressions. It is the third car to be based on the Brio platform and shares much of its underpinnings and design philosophy with the hatchback and the Amaze sedan. We have seen the production version during testing and thanks to a dealer leak have an idea of all the features as well as the variant list for the Indonesian market. Now for the first time, we have also got a glimpse of the interiors.
The Honda Mobilio shares much of its interior design philosophy with the Brio and the Amaze as well as the City to a large extent. Prominent features include the three spoke steering wheel, dashboard panels as well as the AC controls. When details of the features were leaked, the top spec E AT variant was listed as having a two-din music system, however, this vehicle has TFT display which is likely to be a touchscreen.
The second row gets the same beige interiors trim and has double blowers. It is likely that the bench seat design will be standard across all variants. There are pockets on the back of the front seats and they (front seats) are slightly scooped out to increase the rear leg room. The third row has what appears to be folding seats in a bid to increase the space in the boot which by the look of it seems similar to the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
We expect that Honda will bring the Mobilio to the Indian market in the first quarter of the next fiscal and will also offer it with the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine that currently powers the Amaze sedan.
