Honda cars in Thailand has launched the new Accord Hybrid at 1,659,000 baht for the Hybrid, and 1,849,000 baht for the Hybrid Tech variant (Rs 31.80 to Rs 35.44 lakh).
Honda’s Accord Hybrid delivers quite a bit of punch and claims the output to be 215bhp in full hybrid mode. This car is capable of hitting speeds of 120kmph by using the electrical drive mode. Under the hood is a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, i-VTEC engine that works in tandem with a 1.3kWh battery, two electric motors and a CVT gearbox. Honda claims that the new Accord Hybrid can deliver a fuel efficiency figure of up to 23.8kpl.
Driving modes change intelligently to match all driving conditions. These include an EV drive mode for only electric power to propel the car to speeds up to 120kmph, a Hybrid mode and an Engine drive mode. For the performance oriented driver, the Sport drive mode allows the battery to juice up the power generated by the electric motor.
On the features front, the new Accord Hybrid offers a Honda sensing safety system on the ‘Hybrid Tech’ variant. This uses safety features such as adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking system, road departure mitigation with lane departure warning, and lane keeping assist system to keep drivers and pedestrians safe.
Honda cars India is expected to bring the new Honda Accord to our market sometime this year.
