The facelifted Honda Jazz (or the Fit as it’s called in Japan) is set to be unveiled in the months to come. However, a few grainy images of the facelifted hatch have surfaced online ahead of the speculated June unveiling in Japan.
As seen in the leaked images, the mid-life update to the third-generation Jazz gets an aesthetic update with a fresh fascia and updated headlamp signature. The front bumper is redesigned to be more aggressive and the grille has been reworked a bit too. The air vents and fog lamps have black surrounds while the lower bumper gets sharp air splitters. The headlights are a tad sharper and are probably LED now, as seen on the Japanese-spec Honda City.
In other images, the Jazz is wearing a sporty body kits all around with side skirts and a tailgate spoiler. The alloys are newly designed, and there are tweaked taillights with revised signature, stylish bumper with chrome highlights. Apart from these, there are new body colours as well. There are no interior details, however, the cabin might get fresh air with additional features as well.
Engine wise, the powertrain from the current car will continue with the option of 1.5- and 1.3-litre i-VTEC motors. A hybrid powertrain with 1.5-litre and an electric motor with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission is also available. The speculated 1.0-litre turbocharged engine is likely to be shelved until the new generation arrives.
As far as an Indian launch is concerned, the Jazz was last updated here in July 2015. So the facelift isn’t expected to be heading to our shore anytime soon.
