Honda invites Civic Type R enthusiasts to Nurburgring as latest-gen model goes on sale

To celebrate the launch of the new, turbocharged Civic Type R at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, Honda has invited Civic Type R fans to the infamous Nurburgring – a circuit at which the latest-gen Type R recently set the lap record for the quickest front-wheel drive hot hatchback.

The Japanese automaker says it is offering Type R owners and fans the opportunity to attend the ADAC Zurich 24-hour sports car race, which will feature a round of the FIA WTCC, as part of a jam-packed weekend of around-the-clock racing.

After a five-year hiatus, Honda finally brought out the new Civic Type R earlier this month at the Geneva Motor Show. The much awaited hot hatch, which has a strong fan following across the world for its high-revving engine and sporty handling, is now on sale in select markets across the globe.
