Honda has introduced a new nomenclature for its popular sedan, the Amaze. The car will now be available in the SX variant with added safety features. The SX variant will be available in both petrol and diesel with manual transmission.
The Honda Amaze SX will be positioned above the S variant and will feature front dual airbags in addition to the other features available in the Amaze S. The Amaze had ABS as standard in all the diesel variants, the SX variant makes ABS available to the petrol model as well.
The Amaze range has expanded to 12 variants with the addition of the SX. The variants available now are E, EX, S, SX (New) and VX (Petrol and Diesel) and S AT and VX AT (petrol exclusive)
Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Senior Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd said, “Honda Amaze has witnessed great success in the Indian market by selling more than 60,000 units ever since its launch in April 2013 and has been a game changer for Honda. It is our constant endeavour to study customers’ needs & aspirations and introduce features that enhance the overall ownership experience. We are pleased to introduce “SX” variant of the Amaze with added safety features. The S variant has been the most popular variant in the Amaze range and with the addition of SX variant, we are confident that this new variant will appeal and bring delight to the customers seeking safety features at the volume range.”
The new SX variant is priced Rs 6,22,640 for the petrol and Rs 7,12,240 for the diesel (ex-showroom Delhi).
Honda by doing this has taken a leaf out of the new City’s book which featured a mid-variant named SV; it raked in a lot of bookings. This addition might yield more bookings and further increase the appeal of the Amaze sedan in India.
