- Sales milestone surpassed within five months of the launch

- Rivals include Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Ford Aspire and the Hyundai Xcent
Honda India has just made it official that their new compact sedan, the Amaze, has breached the 50,000 sales mark. The model surpassed the milestone within five months of its official launch in mid May 2018.
According to Honda, the new Amaze is currently contributing to 50 per cent of total HCIL sales during April – Sept 2018. This is the fastest 50,000 sales number recorded by any new model launched by Honda in India. The car has been well received across markets with 40 per cent sales from Tier 1 cities and 30 per cent each from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
Unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo, the new Amaze is available in 12 variants, 6 colour options and with both petrol and diesel automatic trim levels. We have already driven the car and you can read the review here. The Amaze is offered with a segment-first diesel CVT option. This is the same 1.5-litre four-cylinder unit from the previous car that produces 100bhp/200Nm in the manual variants and 80bhp/160Nm in the CVT powered models. The Amaze’s petrol models get the 1.2-litre four-cylinder unit producing 87bhp/109Nm and is offered with a five-speed manual or a CVT.
The Amaze is Honda’s rival for the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Ford Aspire, Volkswagen Ameo and the Hyundai Xcent.
